Ropley 10k
ALASDAIR Ewing warmed up for the South Downs Relay with 10th place at a wet Ropley 10km.
Alasdair clocked a time of 36min 21sec for the race which was won by Southampton Running Club's Andy Morgan-Lee in a time of 32.11.
The course starts in Ropley on a rolling and slightly lumpy rural route towards Four Marks and then back into the village.
Tim Crumpton was another Stubby who used the race as preparation for the gruelling test over the South Downs, and despite struggling with a slight injury he still managed 40th position in 40.33.
Nick Kimber raced on the road for the first time since his London Marathon exploits and clocked a time of 43.42 for 91st, with Richard Simms not far adrift in 98th with 44 minutes dead.
Gilbert Yeates weighed in with 197th in 49.50, and Derek Balsdon took 228th place with 51.41. Chris Haskell was the only Stubbington lady to take part with a time of 54.04 for 273rd and John Vose was tucked in just behind in 275th and 54.05
John Randall completed the Stubbington contingent finishing in 357th in 58.19, as 446 runners took part. Southampton Running Club's Karen Rushton was the first lady to finish in 22nd place with 38.15.
