Romsey 5
MARGIE PRITCHARD joined the sub-40 club with a personal best run at the Romsey 5.
Margie braved chilly conditions on a fast course to clock a time of 39min 15sec.
The race started and finished at Romsey School, and for Margie her fast time is the result of regular Thursday evening speed sessions with the club. Margie was 45th in the ladies race, and seventh in the Vet 40 age group.
A total of 540 runners took part in the race which was won by Mike Trees from Team Concept in a time of 26min 34sec. Erica Sheldon from Southampton Running Club was the leading lady winning in a time of 28.31.
Stubbington's top female finisher was Susie MacGregor who, despite three months out of action, has returned running as strongly as ever. She finished 22nd in the ladies race, and was third in the Vet 35 category with a time of 36.07.
The ladies finished seventh in the team standings, with Annie Tomlinson tucked in not far behind Margie as 58th lady with 40.45, followed by Denise Crumpton, 135th in 47.10 and Michelle Simpson, 143rd in 48.50.
The first Stubbington finisher in the race was the suave and sophisticated Mike Bell, who was 79th in 32.44 for ninth Vet 50, and he was followed by Steve Wylie, who was 151st among the men, in 37.47.
