Moors Valley 10km

Susie MacGregor

IT was no picnic in the forest for Susie MacGregor, who made it through the rain to take second place in the women's race at the Moors Valley 10km race.

Conditions were not pleasant for the race which is staged at the country park on the edge of Ringwood with the poor weather not making running very easy. Susie is a lady who goes from strength to strength, and along the woodland tracks she thrived with a time of 42min 2sec, just over a minute behind the women's race winner, Alex Savage from Littledown Harriers in Bournemouth who clocked 40.56 for 12th overall. Susie placed 19th overall in a race won by the unattached runner, Scott Parfitt, in a time of 36.24.

Susie wasn't the only Stubby taking part. Neil Jarvis battled his way to 36th overall in 44.19 from a field of 186 runners. The race was organised by the Dorset Youth Marching Band.
