Lymington Lifeboat 10km

MAN the lifeboats, Zac Conaty and Annie Tomlinson were ready at the charge when they took part in the Lymington Lifeboat 10km race.

This is a low-key charity event which is now in its sixth year, but which attracts a good-sized, quality entry. It is a point to point race with fantastic views over the Solent finishing at Woodside Park in Pennington near Lymington. Sadly, driving rain and strong winds didn't afford the best of views and made it tough going over the gravel tracks.

Zac was the first Stubby to cross the finish line with 63rd place in a time of 44min 59sec and Annie was 155th in 50.16.

Unattached runner, Riel Carol won the event in a time of 37min 31sec, with Southampton Running Club's Nicci Blandford taking the ladies' honours in 39.52 for 13th overall. A total of 415 runners took part.
