Stubbington Green Runners

Lordshill 10

Marcus, Liz & Nick

TWO of the Stubbies who were honoured at the club's awards night were joined at the hip for the Lordshill 10.

Nick Kimber won the veteran runner of the year trophy and Marcus Lee was named as the most improved runner at the Friday evening ceremony.

Both runners had recovered from the autograph signing at the Holiday Inn to run an impressive 1hr 9min 37sec for Nick and 1:09.38 for Marcus to finish 34th and 35th in the race. Nick was also 16th in his vet category.

Gone from the Lordshill 10 is the infamous hill around mile seven. Instead, organisers have conjured up a new route which took runners from Lordshill Outdoor Recreation Centre on a rural route which took in the back lanes of Lee.

Also wearing Stubbington colours was Liz Hall who clocked 1:34.34 for the distance.

Bournemouth AC's Mark Hargreaves won the race in a time of 55min 7sec, while the first lady to finish was Southampton Running Club's Karen Rushton in 1:01.42.
