Hog's Back
JOHN and Anne Fairhurst headed up the A3 to take part in the popular Hog's Back race near Guildford.
A total of 688 competitors finished the 48th running of the eight-mile race which was held in wet and blustery conditions.
This long-standing road race includes four miles of ascent over a 500ft high chalk ridge, and normally, in good weather, runners enjoy fantastic views over Surrey.
The race finished in the grounds of Loseley House and was organised by Guildford & Godalming Athletics Club.
Martin Mashford was first home in an excellent time of 40min 37sec, seeing off the challenge of Chichester's James Baker by 63 seconds, and Emily Adams who was first lady in a time of 47:42. Both runners represent Aldershot Farnham & District AC.
For the Fairhursts, John was 306th in a time of 1hr 3min 42sec and Anne placed 658th in 1:22.26.
