Everton 10km
ZIPPY Grice grabbed a top 10 place when he competed in the Everton 10km race in the New Forest at the weekend.
The event attracted 259 runners on a gentle course along country lanes, starting and finishing at the Recreation Ground in Everton, near Lymington.
Winchester & District AC's Matthew King won the race in a time of 33min 48sec, with Zippy in ninth place with a time of 36.25.
There was a fair contingent of Stubbies who had made their way to the race. Tim Crumpton eased inside the 40 minute mark in 32nd spot with 39.49, and Zac Conaty followed in 63rd with 43.16. Eric Beck was 107th in 46.59 and Terry French placed 154th in 51.23.
Stubbington's lone lady was Debbie Casey. She clocked 1hr 4min 25sec for the distance and 234th place overall. The first female finisher was Southampton Running Club's Nicci Blandford who was 39th overall in 40.46.
