Denmead 10k
SUSIE MacGregor and Tony Allen shared fourth places at the Fullers Brewery Denmead 10km road race.
For Tony, he has spent the summer frustrated by injury which meant he was unable to take his place in the Stubbington team for the South Downs and Test Way relay squads.
However, the veteran runner was back to his best for the race organised by Portsmouth Joggers with a time of 35min 6sec.
Tony was the first veteran finisher in a race won by Tom Jenkins from South London Harriers who crossed the finish line at the King George Playing Fields in 34.13.
For Susie, she continued her remarkable year with another fantastic performance in a very competitive women’s field.
Susie clocked a time of 42.58 for 57th overall, behind winner Karrie Blake, formerly of Denmead Striders, who is now running for City of Portsmouth AC. She won in a time of 37.38 and 12th overall.
A fair sprinkling of Stubbies turned up for the race which attracted 264 runners and which was graced with fine weather and excellent running conditions.
Other Stubbington results:
48th Nick Kimber 42.15
98th Richard Snell 46.49
100th David Langrish 47.12
176th Lauren Coates 53.15
