Bognor Prom 10km
WARM weather, good crowds, a run by the sea, and even a man with a hose to cool down any runners overheating - what more could you want than a day beside the seaside in Bognor?
The Bognor Prom 10km race attracted a high quality field with competitors drawn from across the region and with the first 57 ducking under the landmark 40 minute time.
Stubbington's Mike Tinney didn't quite manage that, finishing the race on the West Sussex coastline in 41min 42sec for 87th place. His chip time was 41.33 which moved Mike up to 78th and 26th Vet40.
Richard Simms continued his high standard of running with a chip time of 42.57 and 108th (V40, 37th).
Susie MacGregor provided another scorching run in the sun placing 12th in the ladies race and 126th overall with 43.04 (V35, 5th).
The race attracted 1,226 runners and was won by Chichester Runners' James Baker in 31.45 with 10th placed Emily Nelson from Epsom & Ewell Harries the top lady in 35.32.
