Blackmore Vale Half Marathon, Dorset

WHAT is it with the Kimbernator? He wore race number one last week at the Ryde 10, and this week was handed the prestigious numero uno for the Blackmore Vale Half Marathon in Dorset.

Obviously some sort of lucrative trading deal with the Kimber sportswear emporium is taking place! Nick, who is continuing his training towards the London Marathon, and has so far built up to the 18-mile mark, enjoyed a useful run-out with a time of 1hr 38min 23sec for 118th.

A total of 418 runners competed in the race which is based in Sherborne, Dorset.

This was the 14th running of the event which is organised by the local Lions club.

The race was won by Peter Roper from SBR Sports in 1:14.19. Leading lady was Camilla Briggs from London-based Thames Valley Harriers who came 15th overall in a time of 1:24.22.
