Becky Gough
BECKY Gough has been enjoying a busy time on the cross country.
The Stubbington teenager finished second at the Hampshire Schools' Cross Country Championships at Carisbrooke.
Competing for Gosport & Fareham Schools, Becky was second in the senior girls event behind Aldershot's Emma Pallant, finishing in a time of 14min 31sec, some five seconds behind the winner.
Then running for Team Southampton at the Cardiff International Cross Country meet, Becky was second again in the under-17 event.
Pitted against some of the top youngsters in her age group Becky, who trains with Penny Forse at Stubbington, placed just 11 seconds behind winner Laura Alexander-High from Aldershot, Farnham & District. Ironically, Emma Pallant who beat Becky at the Hampshire Schools' just days earlier, won the under-20 event at Cardiff.
