Stubbington Green Runners

White Horse Half Marathon, 2nd April 2006

STUBBINGTON'S Tor Duffin was involved in a tight finish at the White Horse Half Marathon in Oxfordshire.

The race was convincingly won by Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow runner, Stephen Kimber in a time of 1hr 13min 43sec.

But it was the battle behind which was interesting in a group headed by a lady, Nikki Slater from Witney Road Runners. Just 12 seconds split the next four runners, with Slater taking second place in 1:17.28 to smash the course record by two and a half minutes and our man Tor was fourth in 1:17.35, a good time in the windy conditions.

A total of 491 runners took part in the race, which was based at Wantage and takes runners on a picturesque course through villages in the Vale of the White Horse, and is organised by White Horse Harriers.
