Wessex XC League, Taunton - 12th March 2006
FANCY A bit of scrumpy and a ride on a combine 'arvester this weekend?!!
Ooooh-aaaaargh, the Wessex Cross Country League heads to Wurzel country on Sunday for the final race of the season.
"Why not make a day of it and explore the beautiful countryside and enjoy a few pints of local ciderrrrrrr," enthuses Andy 'I've got a brand new combine 'arvester and I'll give you the key' Simpson.
"The venue is situated next to Hestercombe House which is a National Trust house and gardens which is reported to be stunning."
The Wessex League race for women takes place at 2pm and will be raced over a 5km course, and the farmer's gun for the 8km men's race will be loaded and unleashed a quarter of an hour later.
Andy is hoping for a good Stubby turn-out for this final race, and if you haven't run cross country before then why not give it a go. Contact Andy Simpson at: michelle.simpson@tiscali.co.uk

Now, altogther.... I drove my tractor through your haystack last night
(ooh aah ooh aah)
I threw me pitchfork at your dog to keep quiet
(ooh aah ooh aah)
Now something's telling me
That you're avoiding me
Come on now darling you've got something I need
Cuz I got a brand new combine harvester
An' I'll give you the key
Come on now let's get together
In perfect harmony
I got twenty acres
An' you got forty-three
Now I got a brand new combine harvester
An' I'll give you the key
