THE track and field season is not quite over - not while the last embers of the blazing hot south coast summer remain.
Team Southampton are hosting a team field event triathlon open meeting at Southampton Sports Centre this weekend.
The competition takes place on Sunday, September 10th , featuring long jump, shot and javelin competitions.
The event will be organised in six age groups - senior men and senior women, under-17, under-15 and under-13 boys and girls.
This is a competition with a difference as each team member may only compete in one of the three field events.
The best performance by each team member will be scored on the IAAF Combined Events tables when the scores for each competitor will be added together and the highest team total wins the day.
The cost of entry is £5 per team.
Also on the day, there will be a number of relay challenges for senior men and women, under-17 boys and girls, under-15 and under-13 boys and girls.
This will consist of relays made up of 4x100m, 3x800m, an under-17 and senior 800m medley made up of two legs of 100m, one 200m and a final 400m leg, a 12 lap Paarlauf for two runners and an under-11 50m shuttle. There is also a £5 entry for this event.
Finally, there will be individual events with 400m hurdles races for senior men and women, and 300m races for men and women, plus under-17 boys and girls.
