Stubbington Green Runners

The Grizzly, 11th March 2007

REMEMBER your mum reading the tale of The Three Bears to you when you were a kid? Well if Goldilocks and the gang freaked you out, then don't even think about the Grizzly next March!

The Grizzly is an 18-mile multi-terrain race organised by Axe Runners based in Devon . It's by no means the toughest race around, but as the organisers suggest, the Grizzly is "twentyish muddy, hilly, boggy, beachy miles of the multiest-terrain edge-of-sanity running experience you will find this side of the end of time."

Still interested? Well, next year's race takes place on Sunday, March 11th , and Stubbington are planning for a family weekend beside the seaside.

So far eight Stubbies are planning to take part, but more are welcome. The group plans to stay at a holiday village in Seaton over the weekend where cheap apartments can be rented for the weekend. It is a lovely area and fantastic for running.

Although the main race is 18 to 20 miles, there is also a shorter 10-mile event.

Entries for the Grizzly tend to fill up quickly, and details will usually be published on the internet around September 10th.

Caroline Street , who is organising a group to head to Devon next March said: "It will be a great weekend for all the family as they organise various things throughout the weekend and facilities at the holiday village are really good."

Go on, give it a go, after Goldilocks it won't be that unBEARable!
