Stubbington Green Runners

The Beast, 3rd September 2006

WITH a race limit of just 500 runners and despite its fearsome name, The Beast tends to have no shortage of takers.

This year's race takes place on Sunday, September 3rd, and according to Tim Birch, chairman of the organisers, Poole Athletics Club, places are filling up.

He said: "The race limit is nearly filled. For the last three years we have had to turn away runners who tried to enter on the day."

The infamous multi-terrain run is now in its 13th year, starting from Corfe Castle and running along the Purbeck coastline. The race is approximately 14 miles in distance, providing heath, fields, stones, 'hills' and the renowned 'steps' at Chapman's Pool (which are impossible to run up?).

Further details can be found on the front page of the Poole Runners' website - www.pooleac.co.uk

An entry form can be found at http://www.pooleac.co.uk/entry2006-1.doc

Or alternatively you can enter online at Runners World by going to Runners World (this costs an additional £1.50 credit card fee).
