South Coast Half Marathon - 1st April 2006
PAUL HAMMOND pulled off a great performance at the South Coast Half Marathon by finishing in eighth place.
The Stubbington runner who lives in Locks Heath clocked a time of 1hr 34min 14sec, not a personal best, but good enough for the high placing in a race won by Guernsey's Dave Holmes in 1:18.19.
The Channel Islander finished almost seven minutes ahead of his nearest challenger. A field of 101 runners took part in the half marathon which is based at Seaford in East Sussex, and which started and finished close to the town's Martello Tower.
The ladies race was won by Brighton's Erica Martin in 1:33.13.
