Salisbury 10k - 19th Feb 2006
ONLY a late call of nature denied Chris Hall a top 10 place at the City of Salisbury 10km.
Chris's pit stop towards the end of this 17th annual race cost him vital seconds on his way to a still very useful time of 37min 26sec for 11th place. He was the third fastest Vet40 on the day.
The City of Salisbury 10K Road Race is the first in the popular 'Fire Station Series' of road races. Based at Salisbury Fire Station in Ashley Road, the race has only one hill at the halfway point and then fine views on the return leg into Salisbury.
The race was won by Welshman Gareth Jones from Neath Harriers in a time of 33:58. The first woman in a field of 405 runners was 17-year-old Leanne Renshaw from the IIF Group, who recorded a time of 39:37 for 27th place overall.
