City of Salisbury 10-miler, 11th June 2006

IT WAS a family day out for the Watts who ventured from their west country home to Salisbury at the weekend to compete in the City of Salisbury 10-miler.

Graham completed the undulating course in a time of 1hr 26min 39sec to finish 90th, while wife Caroline clocked 1hr 46min 29sec for 153rd spot.

A total of 177 runners took part, with Andrew Tuckey from the Bristol & West Club winning the race in 57min 55sec, and the first woman was Sally Pitts from Witney Road Runners in Oxfordshire, who was 23rd overall in a time of 1hr 10min 47sec.

This was the 11th running of the event, which took in a picturesque route to the north of Salisbury on quiet, country roads following the River Avon valley.
