RR10 Itchen Valley preview - 5th July 2006
ITCHEN Valley Country Park beckons for the next round of the RR10. The seventh round takes place on Wednesday, July 5th with a 7.30pm start - and after marshalling at Manor Farm Country Park we can run this one.
If you would like to take part, can you please let either Dave King peekay63@aol.com or Mark Le Gassick mlegass2003@yahoo.co.uk know.
Once again, we are restricted to 20 entries, although as yet we have never been oversubscribed - so if you have yet to take your bow at RR10 then please give it a try.
The course is mainly on grass and woodland tracks. It consists of two-and-a-half laps and is in the region of 4.5 miles long. There are no changing areas, but there are toilets at the tourist information centre.
Itchen Valley Country Park is well signposted. The entrance to the park is off Allington Lane, which can be accessed from the A27 roundabout, Mansbridge Road and Swaythling Road, or from the Fair Oak/Eastleigh Road (B3037).
Parking charges have been introduced at Itchen Valley. However, free parking for all runners and organisers has been arranged with the park authorities. Please use the car parks as directed by the marshalls, but note that the car park area at the immediate end of the access road must be kept clear and this forms part of the course.
