Wessex Rose Bowl Run
ANYONE for cricket? Well, if it's not the thwack of willow you like then how about a run round the Rose Bowl, the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club?
Team Southampton have just announced details of the Norwich Union Healthcare Rose Bowl Run 3, which will be in aid of the Wessex Cancer Trust.
The five-mile race set in the ground of the Rose Bowl starts at 11.30am. It is a multi-terrain course, and is likely to take in Telegraph Woods. This was the venue for an RR10 last summer, but because of a clash of dates with the cricket, this was not possible this year.
However, runners will have the chance to start and finish the race in the Rose Bowl, which is a wonderful sight.
There will also be a two-mile family fun run at 10.30am. Children are encouraged to take part where fancy dress is optional but there will be prizes for the best outfits. the cost of entry is £3 for children, £7 for club runners, £8 for unattached runners, and £9 for entry on the day.
