Pewsey Vale Half Marathon, 27th August 2006
STUBBINGTON'S Joe McDonald just failed to beat the two-hour mark when competing in the picturesque Vale of Pewsey Half Marathon.
This popular Wiltshire event attracted a field of 319 runners, starting and finishing at the village junior school, and taking in the windy, and occasionally hilly roads in the beautiful countryside - the heart of crop circle country!
Joe came home in 242nd place in a time of 2hrs 1min 35sec. The race was won by Simon Barrett from the London-based Serpentine Running Club in a time of 1:14.43, and the first woman was 63rd placed Lynette Porter from the Bitton Road Runners Club in a time of 1:35:01.
