Stubbington Green Runners

Meon Valley Plod

THE scene is the start of a fog-bound Meon Valley Plod, and a poor woman with a megaphone is trying to bellow out instructions to runners at the start of their 20-mile trek.

But hold on, who are those two strange characters in the centre of the photo ignoring her plaintive words - the guy with the bald head and green Stubbington vest waving his arms and chatting to the guy in the hat, blue all-weather top and girly orange running shoes?

Why, it's none other than Messrs Chris "I love Harry Redknapp" Hall and John "Double algebra" Exley.

The question was: What exactly is Chris Hall saying to John, and what's all this with the woofy hand gesture?!!

See below for replies!

THANKS for the entries to the Chris Hall-John Exley caption competition. Among the entries were:

"I wouldn't need one of those things if I was giving the instructions"

"It's all in the wrist action."

"So this was how I won the Pompey Yo-Yo Championship with my walking the dog trick"

"John, I think that full English breakfast is repeating on me."

"John, you're not seriously saying that woman with the megaphone is my blind date tonight?" and the winner, from none other than Mr Hall himself....

"Look where I keep my gel, John "
