Stubby 10 Marshalls Appeal
THE Stubbington 10k road race is just weeks away, and race director, Gary Littlecott, has been very busy putting together the final pieces for the January 14th race to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible.
Several club members have come forward to volunteer their help on the day, which has been fantastic. But more are urgently needed.
Gary said: "It's not solely marshalling, although we will need a fair few folk dotted about the course at key points to ensure the safety of runners and also the traffic.
"I need man and womanpower for both the 10km road race and the fun run, as well as the 101 jobs that will need doing to ensure the smooth running of the day."
If you're not racing on Sunday, January 14th, and you haven't let Gary know you are available, then please get in touch with him at thelittlecotts@ntlworld.com.
Alternatively, you can catch up with Gazza on training nights on a Monday, Wednesday or a Thursday.
Also, if you have any partners, friends or family who are likely to be kicking their heels next January 14th and who you might be able to chivvy along to come and help out, then they would be made more than welcome. Go on, please ask!
There is sure to be a spare race day commemorative mug knocking about afterwards as a thank-you.
Gary will be holding a pre-race briefing for all marshalls and helpers at the Locks Heath Sports & Social Club on Thursday, January 11th at around 8.30pm.
