Macmillan Mile, Tuesday 23rd May
IT'S only a mile, but it's a mile well worth running. That's the annual Macmillan Mile, an event which has become part and parcel of Stubbington Green folklore, raising money for the cancer charity.
This year's Macmillan Mile takes place on Tuesday, May 23rd at Crofton Community School.
The start time is between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. It doesn't matter how you complete the four laps of the running track; running, walking, hopping, backwards or three-legged, the goal is to make the mile.
To take part, all we ask is for a donation of £1 to Macmillan Cancer, a charity which improves the lives of people affected by cancer, by providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support and pushes for better cancer care.
The one-mile distance is well within the scope of all, young and old, so why not bring the family down to do their bit too, and then give a donation to Pat or Dennis Woodward or Jenny Hearnden.
Cancer affects us all. We can all help. We can all help on May 23rd.
