Stubbington Green Runners

Lordshill 10k, 25th June 2006

TIM CRUMPTON has been struggling lately with a niggly injury, but he put that all behind him at the Lordshill 10km.

In humid conditions, the Stubbington runner finished 32nd at the event which started and finished at the Lordshill Recreation Centre in Southampton. Tim clocked 41min 11sec to finish 32nd and seventh Vet 50.

The race attracted a fair sprinkling of Stubbies among the field of 222 runners, with the ladies finishing third in the team rankings behind winners Southampton Running Club and second-placed Romsey Road Runners.

Lauren Coates clocked 46:32 to place 10th overall, Annie Tomlinson was 20th in 50:03 and tenth Vet35, and Clair Miles came home in 41st in 55:26 for 16th Vet 35.

The men managed to field two teams at Lordshill, with the A team placing eighth and the B team tenth, with Southampton Running Club coming out on top. Peter Moreton was among Stubbington's stars, claiming fourth Vet 60 by finishing 87th overall in 47:48.

The race was won by Southampton RC's Andy Morgan-Lee in 31:41 and team-mate Karen Rushton took ladies' honours in 38:41.
