Inca Trail, February 18th 2007

IF you are looking for a race with a difference next year, then how about the Inca Trail race which takes place at Ilchester near Yeovil in Somerset in February?

Stubby members John and Anne Fairhurst have a fair interest in this race since a friend of theirs is organising the seven-mile multi-terrain event to fund-raise for a trip to Peru.

Sara Cullen is venturing to the South American country next year to work on a youth development project. "Sara will be doing some community work with the street children of Cusco," explain John and Anne. "She has to raise her own money, which amounts to £2,800, and one of her projects has been to organise a race.

"The course is flat, mostly relatively going going underfoot, apart from one rough droveway and about a mile of magnificent sloppy mud. "There's one hill, very steep but not very long, and there are magnificent views from the top."

The race takes place on Sunday, February 18th at 11am.
