HRRL Standings
STUBBINGTON’S ladies lie second after two rounds of the Hampshire Road Race League.
The club’s magnificent seven turned on the style at the Hardley A Half on Sunday – 12 months earlier we’d barely put out one team for the half marathon based at Blackfield.
As a result, Stubbington’s A team lie second in Division 2 behind Gosport Road Runners. On Sunday, the ladies in green finished fourth A team in their division, and so sit close on the heels of Gosport with Hardley Runners in third.
In the B Division, Stubbington’s ladies finished fifth best on the day to sit eighth overall in a table predictably headed by Winchester.
For the men, Sunday’s result wasn’t the best with many of the club’s top runners competing at Denmead including last year’s HRRL joint winner, Mark Le Gassick. Stubbington’s men sit fifth in Division One after placing eighth at Hardley. The B team lie seventh overall.
In the individual standings, Mike Harper is Stubbington’s best placed fella holding 10th place, with Ray Gunner 18th. For the ladies, Susie MacGregor holds 41st and Lesley Harding 50th – though both missed Hardley, and Lauren Coates is 56th.
The next race in the Hampshire Road Race League is the Gosport Half Marathon, which is based at Bay House School. This takes place on Sunday, November 19th. To download an entry form, log onto www.hrrl.org.uk
