Stubbington Green Runners

Fleet 10k

NEIL JARVIS put his dodgy ankle to the test by taking part in the Peter Driver Memorial Fleet 10km race.

Neil twisted his ankle during the summer, and so he has been gingerly getting himself back to full fitness.

In wet and windy conditions, the Stubby runner came 87th in a very respectable time of 43min 53sec which Neil was reasonably pleased with.

"It was a two lap 10km around Fleet," said Neil. "I did my normal routine of running the first 5km too fast and felt it on the second lap."

The race was won by Philip Bernsten, a junior from Andover AC who won the race in 33:21 in a field of 439. Issy Menzies from Aldershot, Farnham & District, was the first female to finish in a time of 38:18 for 21st overall.
