Stubbington Green Runners

Race Diary

SO have you worked out how many shopping days there are left until Christmas? No?!! Oh well, if you are looking for a good skive from the festive High Street mayhem this December, then why not pack in a few races?

If mud and grim takes your fancy, then how about the Duck Pond Waddle in early December? This is based in Worthing, and counts towards the chairman's points league if you take part. It is a popular run over nine miles and tends to attract quite a few Stubbies.

For the first time for a long while, the Victory 5 has been included as part of the Hampshire Cross Country League. The race, which is based at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth, is rated as one of the top five-milers in the country and tends to attract some top international runners.

It is an afternoon race and if you want to enter then you will need to get in quick. This one does sell out pretty rapidly.

The cross country season will be in full swing come December with the Hampshire Cross Country, Today's Runner and Wessex Cross Country Leagues staging races. Contact Andy Simpson or Glen Street if you want to take part. The races are free, they're fun - yes, they are! - and who needs retail therapy when you can get cross country therapy?!!

Please note that the Round the Lakes race in Poole on Boxing Day and the traditional pub to pub race in Horndean organised by Portsmouth Joggers have yet to be confirmed.
