Cross Country
WINCHESTER's Farley Mount, not the flattest of places, heralds the start of the Hampshire Cross Country League season.
The new set of fixtures have just been released, and Saturday, October 7th marks the season's opener.
Earlier this year, Mark Le Gassick secured second place in the series to kick off what has been a great year on cross country and on the road for the Stubbington runner.
The Hampshire Cross Country League season takes in races at Chichester, Overton in North Hampshire, Reading and at Wimborne.
The Hampshire Cross Country Championships will be taking place in the north of the county after being staged at Staunton Park in Havant last January. They will take place in Basingstoke on January 6th.
Here's the list of fixtures:
October 7th: Farley Mount
November 11th: Chichester (Goodwood)
December 2nd: Overton
January 6th: Hampshire Cross Country Championships, Basingstoke
January 13th: Prospect Park, Reading
February 10th: Hamworthy Sports, nr Wimborne (Final Cross Country League Race)
March 10th: National Cross Country Championships, Sunderland
