Stubbington Green Runners

Banbury Run

DESPITE threats of snow, Stubbington's Tor Duffin put on his skates to win the 15-mile Banbury Run.

Some 300 runners completed the race which was organised by Banbury Harriers Athletic Club in Oxfordshire, which also staged a two-mile fun run and a one-mile fun run for the under-14s. The club also staged an owners and dogs race.

Oxford-based Tor, who was representing Headington Road Runners in the event, was in outstanding form in the bitterly cold weather as the snow showers held off.

He won the race in an impressive time of 1hr 29min 10sec. Sue Bruce from Tewkesbury AC was the first lady to finish in 1:40.22.
