August Diary 2006
OKAY, so you've booked your summer holidays, so you intend to let your running take a bit of a back seat during August - but there are still a fair few interesting races around to plan ahead for.
Two west country races worth noting are the Sturminster and Pewsey Half Marathons on August 6 and August 27. Two of the more picturesque races in the calendar staged across rolling countryside, and with wonderful, friendly atmospheres. If you want to do something different on a Sunday morning, then these two come highly recommended.
The Isle of Wight Half Marathon on August 20, based at Sandown, is a tester. Undulating barely describes the course, but a popular half all the same.
The RR10 series comes to a climax in August with races 8 and 9 at Stoke Park Woods in Bishopstoke, and the finale at the IBM headquarters in Hursley Park.
