Midhurst 10k, August 14th 2005
JON LEIGH pulled out a fast time at the Midhurst 10km on August 14.
Jon, who has been running very well of late, clocked an impressive 41min 43sec at the West Sussex course. He was placed 68th overall and ninth in the 40-44yr age group.
The 13th running of the race attracted a field of 528 runners, and was won by Toby Lambert, competing as an unattached runner, but who has represented Alton Running Club, in 31:06.
Shona Crombie-Hicks from Bourton Roadrunners in Gloucestershire won the women's race in 35:59.
Not far behind Jon Leigh was fellow Stubby, Paul Hammond, who crossed the finish line in 41:57 for 75th overall and ninth in the 45-49yr age category.
Gilbert Yeates is back racing, and he clocked 50:09 for 242nd and 14th spot in the 60 plus age group.
In the women's race, Lauren Coates was the best placed Stubbington runner thanks to a useful time of 47:05 for 23rd overall.
