This was an excellent turnout in north Hampshire for the first Hants Road Race League fixture. 18 runners completed a tough, hot 5 miler. Tony Allen was well inside the top ten when unfortunately his recent virus forced him to stop, and young Owen Wylie ran 6 minute miles to win the 2.5 mile fun run.

Our ladies ‘A’ team of Maria, Chris and Jane finished 9^th in Div 1. They would have finished 1^st in Div 2!

Our ladies ‘B’ team of Sian, Lisa and Jacquie finished 6^th in the B Division out of 17 teams.

The mens ‘A’ team finished 5^th in Div 1, a decent start, close to the third team but some way short of Denmead and Winchester. The mens ‘B’ team of Dave, Andy, Paul and Colin finished 7^th out of 21 teams.

Next Fixture: Hardley Half – 17^th October.

It would be great if we could get another good turnout down by the New Forest. We usually get good numbers at the next three fixtures, Gosport, Hayling and of course our own 10k, so as many as possible at Hardley would set us up nicely with those races to come.
